Frequently asked questions.
Why can't I see prices?
Every customer and property has different needs and priorities. We offer systems to meet those needs and prefer to carry out a site survey wherever possible. This process can identify risks that are overlooked or underestimated by the customer. Each system therefore, is designed individually, but you may find some additional info in the questions.
Do I need to change my smoke detectors?
Regardless of the power source (mains or battery), smoke and heat detectors have a finite life. The elements inside deteriorate over time and become less effective. The normal limit is 10yrs. You can normally find a "Replace by", "Expiry", or perhaps a "Manufactured" date on each unit. You may have to remove one from it's base. Battery units normally twist off, whilst mains units are commonly released by pulling down whilst releasing a catch. It's helpful to think about how long you have been in your current property, when assessing the age of equipment.
My intruder alarm sounds during powercuts.
If your alarm system routinely sounds during a powercut, it is likely that it needs internal batteries replaced. This highlights the importance of maintenance. We can advise on individual cases. Often it can be an opportunity to IMPROVE your system functionality as well as its reliability.
We can disconnect your old system whilst you decide on replacement. Get in touch...
Can you install the Brand "X" products I bought elsewhere?
In the vast majority of cases, the answer is going to be "Sorry, but no". We pride ourselves on the use of products of the highest quality. Whilst it's very easy to buy cheap(er) products from internet sites, or marketplaces, the products we offer have been carefully developed, and tested over extended periods. We restrict ourselves to a small portfolio of brands in order to deliver consistent quality and support.
